2008 Annual Meeting Held March 27
The last Thursday of March has traditionally been a big day for Swisher Electric Cooperative and last week was no exception. March 27 was the date of Swisher Electric’s 68th annual meeting. SEC hosted 375 members, employees, and family at this year’s meeting, catered by Fins and Hens.

Everyone enjoyed a good meal, followed by an informative presentation regarding the future of the energy industry. 186 votes were cast in the board member elections: 185 by present members and one vote by proxy.

Three positions, held by Eddie Bryan, Mace Middleton, and Dwain strange, were up for election this year. SEC’s nominating committee had selected Tom Bullock, Tyler Evans, and Jeff Harrell to run opposite the incumbent board members.

When the votes were counted, incumbent directors Eddy Bryan, Mace Middleton, and Dwain Strange had all been selected to serve another term on Swisher Electric Cooperative’s board of directors.

The most important order of business was handled last, as always: members were awarded over fifty door prizes—more than one in four members present received gifts, including a 32” LCD HDTV as the grand prize.
