EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Swisher Electric Cooperative, Inc. is now accepting applications for a Groundman or Journeyman position through June 30, 2025. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break) and includes on-call duties.

Groundman:
Applicants with lineman qualifications will also be considered. The Groundman is responsible for supporting linemen by preparing materials for job sites and performing manual labor tasks. This role requires attentiveness to the needs of the line crew and active participation in daily operations. After six months of satisfactory performance, the Groundman may be eligible to enter the Apprentice Lineman Program.

Journeyman:
This mid-level position involves a wide range of duties related to the construction, maintenance, and operation of distribution and transmission systems. The Journeyman works on energized lines, structures, and equipment to ensure reliable electricity delivery.

Requirements:

  • Must reside within 15 miles of Swisher Electric Headquarters in Tulia, Texas
  • Must hold a valid Texas Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Must have an insurable driving record
